FAQs

What is your style of photography
My wedding photography style is a mix of contemporary, reportage and classic but I always let the bride and groom guide me on their style and embrace your vision of how you want your album to look and feel.

Pre-wedding photoshoot
Where do we do a pre wedding Prior to your wedding we like to setup a pre-wedding shoot so you can experience how I work and pick up some tips on posing.  The aim is to make you feel comfortable in front of the lens and doing a pre-wedding shoot saves time with the wedding day photo sessions as you will know how to pose and do not instructions on the day. The images from your pre-wedding shoot are often used as an engagement or save the date cards.

How do I book
Booking as soon as you know your wedding date is advisable.  We work on a first come first served basis and can only reserve your date when we have your booking fee along with a signed contract.  The remainder of the fee is due 28 days before your wedding date.  Please get in contact as soon as possible so we can meet up and show you our sample albums.

When do you start and stop taking photos
On your wedding day I can be available from getting ready and up until the first dance is usually the norm.  If required I can stay on to capture some of the party spirit so please let me know before hand.

How many photos do you take
While shooting I always take 4 or 5 frames of the same image which enables me to choose the best shot to eradicate and images where people are blinking or have heads turned.  It is not uncommon to capture 2000 frames on the day of which we will choose the best ones to end up with around 500 images.

Do I need to feed my photographer
We would prefer you to arrange hot food for your photographer and assistant as this saves us time as trying to order food while the catering staff are serving a wedding can take a long time.  We do not need a place with your guests and happy to eat in an area away from you wedding breakfast.

How do you arrange formal group shots
Please inform us of family members and special groups of friends and relatives.  Preferabley we would request a groomsmen or bridesmaid to shaperon and assist arranging the groups so we can make the group photo session move quicker and ensure we do not miss anyone out.

What happens if you can not make the wedding
If for any reason we can not get to your wedding our insurance policy will supply a replacement photographer.  We also network with other photographers that we can count on to jump in if needed.

What happens if it rains
Weather is very unpredictable in the UK and we are very versed with adapting to the changing conditions.  We always do a site survey before your wedding to ensure we have identified a contingency plan should it rain. I always carry a selection of umbrellas in the car just in case.

What happens after booking ?
In the beginning I start with a consultation to find out what style of photography you like best and for you to get to know me. This is also a good time to let me know of any special people, groups or relationships I should be aware of to make sure we capture them.  As a guide I advise to limit group shots to around 6 which includes all guests and wedding party for the album.  Getting the right photographer is critical to your wedding day and we appreciate this as the photographer is the person your guests will remember if we are too pushy or take up too much time taking photos. My aim is always to work with you and understand the wedding itinerary from start to finish so I can make sure you day flows smoothly and can work to your timescales so I can get the images you want. Many guests do remark at how accommodating and relaxed I can be at a wedding as their previous experiences suggest other photographers have been hurried and stressful which does not create a good vibe for your day. When everything is agreed we book a pre-wedding shoot.
